As a long-time Rosenborg fan I have some comments. We are a far cry from the powerhouse we were in the 90s, with reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League and all that. We did have a good spell from 2015-2018 with the highlight being beating Ajax to get into the Europa League, but after that the club has been on a steady downwards spiral. We have gotten a bit of a resurgence under our new temporary coach who is trying to get us back to our roots and the Ajax inspired football we were known for in the 90s. I’d say it’s a wide open game, but we are incredibly shaky defensively still.
Ole Sæter, our best striker by a country mile, is injured and won’t play. Same with Markus Henriksen, our captain. We have a new winger that we bought ahead of this tie that looks really good, and Nelson is extremely pacey on the other wing. If we somehow manage to be solid defensively we should go through, but I doubt that will be the case to be honest 😀
Thanks for the message Alexander. Although we lost the first leg, I’m probably a little more optimistic about Hearts’ chances. We played very poorly and still only one goal in it. Definitely a tie that could go either way next week, but hopefully a packed Tynecastle gives us the edge!
